Dry Lot Resurfacing
Before → After: Drylot Refresh & Driveway Upgrade
A few years ago, our customer had their barn and dry lot built — and it was done right. Proper base, fabric, drainage… all the important stuff was already there.
But to save a little money at the time, they went lighter on screenings, planning to add more down the road. After a few years of daily use (and a whole lot of horse hooves), some of the fabric started showing through and a few low spots started to form.
That’s where we came in.
We added a fresh layer of screenings across the entire dry lot, leveled out the low areas, and built up the surface around the hay hut where the horses spend most of their day. The result? A riding surface that feels soft on your knees, yet firmer and easier to walk through than sand, and absolutely perfect for everyday use and riding.
We also upgraded their connector driveway, adding new stone and widening the apron so their trailer can pull in and out without dropping wheels off the edge.
Solid base + fresh screenings = a gorgeous, long-lasting arena that’s ready for years of use.
