Foundation Block Repair

Over the winter one of our good customers asked us to help with an exterior door at his business that wouldn't open, and hadn't for some time.

The assumption was what most people think- it worked sometimes but not other which is common in humid places like PA. But as we investigated further, we found that the door was permanently stuck close because the surrounding block foundation wall had failed- and the only thing holding the wall up was the door itself!

We formulated a plan and jumped right into repairing the foundation before it could get any worse.

Kyle started by digging along the foundation to expose the full damage. After setting temporary walls inside to hold the load, he removed the door and compromised block. He rebuilt and waterproofed the foundation wall, before tearing down the overhead building (which provided some rain cover during the project, but was ultimately going away. The customer choose to eliminate the door completely and replace with a window instead. Kyle finished the wall with brick facing, and backfilled and compacted the excavated area.

Last but not least, Kyle installed drywall inside and got it ready for paint! We're big on being a contractor who finishes the project all the way- instead of leaving a mess for you to deal with on your own.
